Yes, I'm a fan! 

I became when was 8 young. The HR Giger's "Alien" trilogy amazes at 1979 as much as today, so it ages as perfectly that I decided to make my own version as a tribute inspired in this inmortal creature.

I've started doing the highpoly sculpt with Zbrush, his low poly retopology and uv's with Maya, then textured with Substance Painter and rigged with Advanced Skeleton.

Here can see some Arnold render shots with a HDRI skydome.

At last I can feed my Studio Library character folder with some animations inspired in lizzards and quadrupeds. 

About the rigging, skinning is done with Maya, but the skeleton systmes are made with the amazing Advanced Skeleton plugin, that helped so much to make faster and easyer the rigging process.
